What's best for you?
Different cooktop technologies provide different benefits, from efficiency and speed, to flexibility and ease of installation. We’ve put together the below guide to help you better understand these differences and choose the best cooktop for your needs.
Induction cooktops offer excellent efficiency, precision and added safety as they only generate heat where it is needed – directly on the base of the pan. This improves energy efficiency, safety and allows for faster cooking with minimal heat loss.
Ceramic cooktops heat the glass of the cooktop, which then warms the base of the pan. This can provide a smooth, aesthetically pleasing surface that is easy to maintain and delivers even heating for consistent cooking results, with the added versatility of working with various cookware types.
Gas cooktops burn natural gas, creating heat around the base of the pan. They are valued for their instant heat adjustment, which is ideal for recipes requiring quick changes in temperature, and their visible flame allows for easy monitoring of heat levels.
I have been a gas cooker for decades and was disappointed when doing a kitchen renovation in my new house that we didn't have a gas connection. I had to do lots of research into induction hobs (all very confusing as each brand and model has different features) In any case I settled with this one and had hopes it would be good, but not high hopes compared to gas. Well, I have been completely blown away! This cooktop is not only super fast and powerful, it's also senstive to cooking power changes. I have lots of room to link hobs and a big pan ring in the centre. Can sear and do stir fry's easily and gently keep things warm on lower heats. It boils water far quicker than my kettle and is the easiest to use. No need to read the instructions, its intuitive. I was so apprehensive about getting an induction but as a person who loves to cook complicated dishes, I'm so impressed and didn't think I'd be writing a gushing review. It's a good one! and easy to clean as well, bonus.
Our new Bosch Induction Cooktop has made out life signifcantly easier. We love the fast heating time and safety features of induction cooking. The multi zone is a winner. We love it!
We recently moved to a lovely home by the seaside but the the cheap Induction cooktop just didn't come close to the flexability and control of my Bosch Induction cooktop that we left behind. I highly recommend the quality and versatility of this cooktop which provides total flexability and can handle any size pot or pan with ease.
Purchased induction cooktop to replace a Bosch ceramic cooktop. After reading the product guide decided to trial all functions. It is fantastic: speed of heating, maintaining constant heat and versatility of elements all meet our expectation. The ability to identify a specific temp on the variable element side is the best feature, it works perfectly.
We replaced our gas cooktop with the Bosch PIX631HC1H and so far love it! We have kids and cleanup is much easier now that the surface is flat, compared to gas that had the cast iron trivets. It also heats up water much faster. Would love to get a new rangehood and use the Home Connect feature to link them together. Highly recommend the cooktop.
